Congregation Beth Israel Preschool recognizes the significant role it plays in establishing a framework through which Jewish experiences are integrated into a quality preschool curriculum. The Early Childhood Center at Beth Israel is committed to providing a quality education.

Our school incorporates an exciting preschool curriculum with a myriad of Jewish experiences. Children in all age groups spend their day in developmentally appropriate programs intended to build on each child’s strengths and to foster new skills. We emphasize the growth of self-confidence and self-esteem while creating an environment where each child has opportunities for developing independent skills and social interaction.

Our teachers are chosen for their professional training and experience in the field of child development. Each classroom is designed to be an active learning environment. Opportunities for first-hand experience in language arts, math, science, music, and movement abound. Field trips and enhancement programs enrich our curriculum.  Hebrew vocabulary is blended into the daily program. We celebrate Shabbat weekly with our clergy as well as all Jewish holidays and festivals.

Classes are small and limited in size. Each class places emphasis on the child as an individual and his/her readiness for the acquisition of new skills. Each class gears its curriculum to the needs of that age group, and each child may set his/her own pace. Materials are open-ended and allow for self-discovery. Parent involvement is welcome. Our families help assist with special activities and events as well as working in partnership with the staff to ensure a successful early childhood educational experience.
