Gift of Major Art Collection from Schnitzer Family to Cedar Sinai Park

A very significant donation of 37 works of art has been made in the name of the late Manuel, Morris, Gilbert and Leonard Schnitzer, their families and MMGL Corp., announced David H. Fuks, Chief Executive Officer of Cedar Sinai Park, today. The collection includes a variety of artists and styles; all connected to the Pacific Northwest, including pieces by Louis Bunce, Michael Dailey, Joan Mitchell, Michele Russo.

“This gift is a remarkable addition to the art on our campus and will enrich the lives of those we serve and their families for generations to come,” stated Mr. Fuks in making the announcement. “In addition to the intrinsic value of the presence of this beautiful artwork, it will be useful to our program staff as a part of the education and art therapy work done on our campus."

“We hope that the lives of the residents, visitors and the entire community will be enhanced by these special works of art that have been part of our families for many years,” said Gayle Romain of the Schnitzer Family.

The Schnitzer Collection will be installed throughout the Cedar Sinai Park campus: displayed at the Rose Schnitzer Manor, Robison Jewish Health Center and Kehillah. This artwork will be part of Cedar Sinai Park’s permanent collection and will never be sold for fundraising purposes.

“We are deeply grateful to the families of Manuel, Morris, Gilbert and Leonard Schnitzer for their support of the work done on our campus,” said Paul Frisch, Cedar Sinai Park Board Chair. “This beautiful artwork is a concrete manifestation of the commitment of this exemplary family.”

“This wonderful donation of art will not only be visually enjoyable for all residents and visitors but will also greatly enhance and beautify the interior of our home. The artwork will remind us that we reside in a beautiful and wonderful community,” said Arnie Silver, President, Rose Schnitzer Manor Resident Council.
