Welcoming Carrie Hoops to Jewish Family & Child Service

From Les Soltesz, President, Board of Directors:
On behalf of the Board of Directors, I am delighted to announce the appointment of Carrie Hoops as Interim Executive Director for Jewish Family & Child Service (JFCS). A well-known and respected figure in the nonprofit and philanthropic communities, Carrie comes to JFCS with an extensive background in providing strategic, inspirational leadership to support the mission and values of the organizations she works with. She began her work full-time on April 7.

Carrie led the Nonprofit Association of Oregon as Executive Director, and was the Executive Director of Literary Arts for a number of years. She served as Interim Executive Director for Portland Farmers Market, the Sitka Center for Art and Ecology, and the Oregon Council for the Humanities. She has served in other local institutions in a variety of capacities.  We expect that she will quickly contribute to JFCS’s success and anticipate that her tenure with us will last approximately six months.

We will now begin a nationwide search for a full-time Executive Director.  As always, your inputs into the process are welcome.  Carrie specializes in helping organizations thrive during periods of transition, and will play a key role supporting the board in this search. We will keep our stakeholders and supporters up to date throughout this process.
