Almost one week ago, we learned the tragic news of seven siblings who died in a fire in New York. The tragedy was caused by a faulty hot plate left on to keep food warm over Shabbat, and the absence of smoke detectors on the first and second floors to alert the family in time.
Several weeks ago, I wrote about “The Speech,” where Prime Minister Netanyahu spoke before Congress and shared his thoughts about the potential deal with Iran. Well, this week, all I could think about was The Election.
This week seemed to be all about “the speech.” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu came to Washington to speak to a joint session of Congress. I watched the speech – twice.
Wednesday night, I had the privilege of teaching students at Congregation Shaarie Torah’s Wednesday Night School. I’ll be frank – I am not a trained educator and working with students grades 6-9 certainly has its challenges.
