August Wilson Monologue Competition

The August Wilson Red Door Project's mission is to change the racial ecology of Portland. This year's August Wilson Monologue Competition Regional Finals starts with our twelve talented and determined Portland area high school students performing the work of master playwright, August Wilson. Then, we’ll move to the contemporary resonance of two of the powerful monologues of Hands Up!, kicking off our 2017 tour of this phenomenal, transformative collection of post-Ferguson monologues. Finally, we will weave our way through the music that has helped forge a culture – from its African beginnings to blues to jazz to hip hop. This evening is a true celebration! Join us for this free event, and help make Portland a place where everyone can thrive!

Tickets required, FREE.  Family-friendly. Ticket Link: http://www.reddoorproject.org/awmc/regionals
