We often think of the ideal spiritual life as one of tranquility and wholeness. But what happens when our personal or communal lives become so disrupted that the old paradigms just don’t work? When we are shattered and confused, how can we make sense of the world? We will look at Jewish sources that challenge us to approach the greatest questions of our lives in a new way: to see tranquility as the danger, and moments of crisis as opportunities for growth.
