Sony Felberg will lead a conversation and demonstration of Cigar Box Guitars, string instruments developed by African slaves based on traditional African string instruments. Cigar Box Guitars are the basis of American Blues.

Six months into his third attempt at learning to play guitar, Sony Felberg realized he had all the tools he needed to build cigar box instrument.  He built a three-string. Then he built a few more, found some design improvements and built more.  ChickiBoom Cigar Box Guitars are sold in three retail locations in the Portland area. Models are three and four strings supporting a variety of tuning options from Bass Guitar to Banjo to Ukulele.
