This workshop will explore several literary forms traditionally associated with women: Yiddish tkhines—“women’s” prayers (in translation), fairy tales, recipes and lists. Like weeds gathered for teas and tinctures, how can we use these forms to generate our own subversive and sustaining poems and narratives? The workshop will involve reading and discussion of texts and generative exercises.
