Here is an opportunity we don’t seem to get much anymore: an in person seder where we can sit together and share this most important Jewish bonding experience. Children are welcome. In a change that has drawn interest in other communities, we include the seder ceremony with the Haggadah, readings and rituals, that finishes at 5:30, with dinner left on your own. We have found that including the seder meal makes the event too long, too expensive or both for many would be attendees. There is no meal. There will be time for socializing with Passover related finger foods prior to the seder itself.
The Community Seder will be at our Portland Eastside Jewish Commons home base from 4:00 -5:30 pm on Saturday, April 4. Non-members are welcome. See website (www.kolshalom.org) for non-member registration ($20 for adults, $15 student/teen/child over 12, free for children under 12)
