Last year at Rosh HaShanah you wanted to do better. And you did for a while. But then…the same old patterns emerge. Why is that? How do we make personal transformation real this year? Now is your chance to delve deep into that question in advance of Rosh HaShanah, so this year can be a Higher Holy Days.
Selichot begins Saturday night. (Click here to learn about Selichot). This is a ‘get ready’ signal in the Jewish calendar, encouraging you to dig deep and find the strength to become the person you are aspiring to be. We will learn about the laws of Selichot, drawing on Rambam (Rabbi Moses ben Maimon, a key figure in Jewish thought) and others. And we will also talk about spiritual tools and practices drawn from the Jewish tradition that will help you make your teshuvah, your personal growth, richer and more successful this year.
So, join us for a brief musical Havdallah, some deep learning, a bit of food and discussion. Havdallah is at 8:15 p.m., and the Selichot service will begin at 10:15 p.m. All are welcome!
