Beth Israel Brotherhood & Neveh Shalom Men’s Club present
The Gaza Wars: 2008, 2012, 2014, 20??
A talk by Stanley Wulf, MD, J Street National Advisory Council
Sunday, September 21st at 10:30 am in the Pollin Chapel (Schnitzer Family Center): 1972 NW Flanders Street. Free and open to the community.
Dr. Wulf will analyze how the war has affected the relative strengths and weaknesses of Israel, Hamas,
and the Palestinian Authority and how those changes influence any pathway forward.
The presentation will trace how conflicting narratives and recognition demands were the main factors behind both the failure of the Kerry Initiative and the ensuing war. Dr. Wulf will then explore a range of proposals for resolving the conflict while demonstrating why a two-state solution is more important now than ever.
Stanley Wulf was raised in South Africa as a committed Zionist and traditional Jew. He practiced as an obstetrician-gynecologist in Los Angeles before studying in Jerusalem at the liberal Pardes yeshiva. Since 1989 he has lived in Berkeley and has served as president and treasurer of Berkeley’s Modern Orthodox synagogue. His family has a home in Jerusalem and he visits Israel every year. Dr. Wulf recently retired as chief medical officer of a medical technology company. In 2009 he was chosen by his peers as one of the “100 Most Inspiring People in the Life-Sciences Industry.”
