Free Public Panel Discussion with Dr. Susan Pickett, Music Chair from Whitman College, Dr. Bonnie Miksch, School of Music Chair at PSU, Cindy Gerdes and Susan Alexjander, composers affiliated with Crazy Jane Composers.

This panel will cover more than 100 years of women composers from the life of Marion Bauer, born 1882, to today. The audience will have a chance to ask questions and all panelists will share from their own experience.

The program is offered in celebration of Women' History Month and in conjunction with Portland Youth Philharmonic's March 5th concert at Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall, featuring Marion Bauer's Sun Splendor, which was first performed by the New York Philharmonic in 1947, under Leopold Stokowski.

Panel will take place in a classroom.

The panel discussion is free to the public. Tickets to PYP's concert on March 5th are available at www.portlandyouthphil.org or by calling the PYP office at 503-223-5939.
