Join us for a hands-on Sephardic cooking learning experience in how to make Eggplant Beef Yaprakes, a staple meat dish of Mediterranean Sephardim enjoyed for Shabbat and year-round. Participants will help prepare the dish from start to finish, and learn about our community's unique heritage while it cooks.

Renee Ferrera, CAA Vice President and Kitchen Committee chair, will be leading the class, and had this to say about the dish:

"Eggplant is a favorite ingredient for Separdic recipes from the Island of Rhodes. This dish was taught to me by my mother and her mother, my maternal grandmother. They would often make it for Friday night dinner to welcome Shabbat. Every time I have made it at the synagogue it has been a big hit."

Afterwards, we'll enjoy the food together and then head over to Multnomah Village for a Happy Hour. This event is hosted in partnership with Portland Jewish Connection.

This event is for young professionals (ages 21-42ish).
