PJA’s program includes services for children of all ages:
PJA’s preschool through eighth grade program emphasizes excellent arts and sciences along with timeless values. PJA’s combination of academics and ethical wisdom nurtures the whole student. Our teaching is student-centered and our curriculum is specially designed to nurture and educate our students’ minds, bodies and spirits.
PJA Elementary School begins with a full-day transitional kindergarten program (for four and five year olds) and continues through fifth grade. Our curriculum balances excellent arts and sciences with Hebrew and Jewish studies. (No prior Hebrew or Jewish studies experience is necessary for either elementary or middle school.) Our curriculum also includes many enrichment activities; all our students study art, dance, music and physical education.
PJA Middle School is uniquely suited to the needs of the early adolescent. With positive peer groups, skilled teachers and a curriculum that challenges, our students thrive. We have an unusually broad array of exploratories (electives) from which students may choose: from animation to yoga and art to vaudeville. We are particularly proud of our Jewish studies programs in our middle school. By focusing on textual analysis, students acquire critical reasoning skills that most people don’t learn until college. Our graduates report that PJA prepared them exceptionally well for the next level of learning – and for life.
PJA shares a campus with the MJCC. Our campus is unusually well equipped indoors and out for recreation and physical activities and includes three developmentally appropriate playgrounds, athletic fields, a gymnasium, fitness and cardio center and pool.
