Getting Started

As a campaign ambassador, your role is vital to the success of the Jewish Federation’s Annual Campaign for Community Needs and other giving opportunities. With every meeting you have and every gift you secure, you are addressing the most critical causes in the Jewish community and building a bright future. What you do makes a difference!

ORGANIZE/PRIORITIZE YOUR CARDS - LOG INTO YOUR VOLUNTEER SOLICITOR PORTAL

Each donor deserves individual attention! By reviewing your assignments early in the campaign, you can determine the best strategy to engage each of your donors.

Log into your Solicitor Portal. Check the status of your donor's card weekly. Is it time to make a call, or time to write a thank you card? Each profile will indicate if a donor's profile is open or closed.

Is there someone you know you always see at a community event, your kid's school or at synagogue?

Reach out to your campaign professional with any questions, or if you need tools, tips, or resources to engage donors

It may be a little uncomfortable to ask for a gift, but remember you are asking for those who cannot ask themselves. You are giving people an opportunity to support those who need it most. You can learn more in our Annual Report.

If you solicit any campaigners, close their gifts early. This sets a positive example for the rest of our community.

If you do not want to call your prospect first, try sending an email or text to let your prospect know that you would like to schedule a time to discuss their 2026 Annual Campaign for Community Needs gift. This will also make it more comfortable for you.

Sample text:  Hello and "Happy New Year," I am contacting you on behalf of the Jewish Federation to discuss the 2026 Annual Campaign.  I will be calling from (503-xxx-xxxx), I am sharing this information so that you will recognize my number when I call. I look forward to speaking with you soon."

It is your role as a campaigner to be proactive; take the lead on scheduling the meeting, and follow-up as needed. Be responsible for calling your donor back and choosing a meeting date. Thank you for taking this commitment seriously.

We encourage you to share the Save the Date postcard by clicking here. Let your donors know invitations will be mailed in coming weeks.
