Jewish Genetic Disease Education Event with Low-Cost Screenings Available
At the Mittleman Jewish Community Center, October 19 at 1:30pm
The importance of knowing your risks for carrying a potentially fatal genetic disease, and then knowing your carrier status as a Jewish adult cannot be stressed enough. It is the only way to prevent a tragedy as there are currently no treatments or cures for the majority of these diseases.
Join us to learn about Jewish Genetic Diseases and how these diseases may impact your family. We will discuss carrier screening recommendations. On-site screening will be available for those interested.
SPEAKERS:
Sally Segel, MD - Maternal Fetal Medicine, The Vancouver Clinic
Cori Feist, MS - CGC Genetic Counselor, Oregon Health & Science University
Open to the community; the education portion is free of charge.
