Even seven decades after the immeasurable destruction of Jewish lives, wealth, religion, and culture in central and eastern Europe, issues of Jewish identity remain as contentious and complex as ever across the region. This course will explore the plight of post-Holocaust Jewry in Hungary, Poland, and the former Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic and Slovakia).
