It is with great sadness that Congregation Shaarie Torah announces the passing of Gunter Heinz Hiller, z”l.

Gunter was born on August 16, 1928 in Berlin, Germany, and passed away on June 27, 2024, just months shy of his 96th birthday. His parents, Herta Applebaum, z"l, and Hans Alfred Hiller, z"l, both perished in concentration camps in 1943. He is mourned by dear friends in the community and those who knew him through the Holocaust Survivors program at Jewish Family & Child Services.

The funeral was held Monday, July 1, at Shaarie Torah Cemetery.
