It is with deep sadness that Congregation Shaarie Torah announces the passing of Shelly Tate, z"l, beloved mother of Akiva Hunt.

Shelly passed away Tuesday, July 15, 2025 in Arizona at the age of 59.

She is survived by her husband, Brian Tate, her parents, Larry and Carole Ellsworth, and her eight adult children: Akiva, Klarissa, Courtney, Casey, Morgan, Megan, Rachel, and Daniel. Shelly also leaves behind four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Emma, z”l.

A private memorial service is being planned.
