Shalom! Welcome to Portland

What brings you to town?  Work, family, or just a sense of adventure?  Portland and the surrounding areas have a lot to offer residents of all ages, lifestages and interests.  The Jewish community is no exception and supports a breadth and depth of offerings.

40,000+ Jews call Portland home and live all over the city and surrounding areas.  We have synagogues, schools, camps, adult learning, cultural arts, an array of volunteer opportunities, social service supports and more.

There are many ways online to familiarize yourself with our community but technology can’t wholly replace the human touch, so we do hope you will give us a call with your questions and your ideas.  We can even set up a time to meet if you would like.

We want you to feel at home in your community.  As a transplant, I must tell you that Portland is THE friendliest place I have ever lived and very easy to feel at home in. Feel free to call anytime and let us know how you are doing!
