Our current exhibit, Auto/Biography: Portraits of People with Cars, reminds us that the car represents, among other things, a vehicle for “enjoying the fruits of our labor, moving West and exploring its landscape and establishing roots to create our own unique identity.”

What is the car in Israeli Jewish society? Come watch excerpts from Metallic Blues, Broken Wings and Lost Islands (all of which are Israeli movies from the 2000s) and try answering what is the car for Israeli Jews in an informal discussion with Dr. Moshe Rachmuth, who teaches Modern Hebrew and Israeli cinema at Portland State University.
