Marthe Cohn was a young Jewish woman living just across the German border in France when Hitler rose to power.
When, at the age of eighty, Marthe was awarded France’s highest military honor, the Médaille Militaire, not even her children knew what this modest woman had faced while helping defeat the Nazi empire.
Her remarkable story is the tale of an ordinary human being who, under extraordinary circumstances, became the hero her country needed her to be.
Please join us for an evening with Marthe Cohn on June 8th at the New Center for Jewish Life in Northeast Portland.
Following Mrs. Cohn's oration there will be a book signing.
