► Outline the basics of some of Oregon's hazards, with an emphasis on the Cascadia Subduction Zone.
► Help us understand how such disasters can impact Jewish communal institutions and the communities they serve.
► Discuss measures these institutions and individuals within their communities need to be taking now.
► Examine how Christchurch, New Zealand, a city with similarities to Portland, is recovering from an earthquake in 2011 of 7.1 magnitude (1/100th the magnitude of the earthquakes that Oregon has been experiencing every 300-500 years over the past 10,000 years).
