During Passover, Jewish people relive the story of their ancestors being liberated from slavery in Egypt. Mitzrayim, the Hebrew name for Egypt, can be translated to mean “constriction” or “the narrow place.” In this gentle yoga class, we will take an introspective "journey from Mitzrayim,” exploring the themes of Passover and moving from constriction and narrowness toward freedom and expansion in our bodies, minds and hearts. This class is an hour and a half long and will include time for discussion and journal reflections. Wear comfortable clothing and bring your own yoga mat (if you have one), journal/notebook and pen.
Accessibility: This yoga practice may incorporate supine, prone, sitting, and/or standing postures. You should be able to comfortably move between sitting and standing without assistance to participate. Modifications will be offered and you are always invited to do what feels best for your body. Previous experience with yoga is helpful but not required. If you have any questions feel free to email Amanda at inspiredheartwellness@gmail.com.
