ORA Northwest Jewish Artists is proud to sponsor the first Young Artists Show, Sunday, February 26 – Friday, March 3. The show will be held in the Mittleman Jewish Community Center’s lobby. It will be the first event to kick off the month long Jewish Arts Month which runs through the end of March and features art by ORA members.
Children in grades 5-8 are invited to submit up to 5 pieces of art, of any medium, for jury review and consideration for the show. Prizes will be awarded in each grade level. Artists may offer their piece(s) for sale during the show if desired. The Opening Night Reception will be held at the Mittleman Jewish Community Center on Sunday, February 26, from 4-5:30pm.
Young artists must register by email to YoungArtistsShow@gmail.com with the information found at NorthwestJewishArtists.org. Artwork must be submitted on Sunday, February 12, from 10:30-12pm at Neveh Shalom, Room 105. Artists must pick up their artwork between 2:30pm - 4pm the same day. Results will be emailed within 48 hours. Depending upon the total number of submissions, a young artist may only be asked to exhibit 1-2 pieces. The jury will consist of ORA members.
Artists must attend the Opening Night Reception with an adult. They will be expected to stay near their art so they may speak about it to those in attendance. Artists are strongly advised to create business or artist cards to place next to their art so that prospective buyers and others interested in their work may easily contact them.
Art will be available for pre-show sale on Sunday, February 26, from 4-5:30pm during the Opening Night Reception. Art will then be marked as sold and become available for buyer pickup after the show.
