Looking for a way for the whole family to celebrate Rosh Hashanah? The Eastside Jewish Commons and Jewish Family & Child Service of Portland welcomes you to an informal Rosh Hashanah gathering with crafts to get in the holiday’s spirit of community and reflection. Create and decorate your own tzedakah box and discover how apples can be used to make unique holiday cards. And of course, there will also be apples for dipping in honey and eating, because what Rosh Hashanah would be complete without them?
In addition to the apple fun JFCS will lead an activity: Creating your family mission statement. Parents will have an opportunity to focus on the art of apology while kids engage in holiday-themed crafts. The afternoon will culminate with a joint parent/child guided project that will result in a family mission statement to help guide your family in the year ahead.
This event is for families of children 2-10.
