Wondering Jews: Hamentaschen & Blessings

Join us for a special program all about blessings, family ties, and how we are connected, regardless of religion and cultures. Long-term Neveh Shalom member, teacher, and artist Laurie Fendel will teach about blessings, and distribute blessing-filled hamantaschens.

Following Laurie’s sharing about Jewish blessings and our culture… special guest Harold Odhiambo, Coordinator of Interpreter Relations at "Passport to Languages" will talk about the special and wonderful blessings of other cultures.

Odhiambo immigrated to Portland from East Africa decades ago. For years, he has pursed post graduate education in cultures, language, health care and the real meaning of diversity. He will speak of the hundreds of cultures right here in Oregon, how these cultures offer blessings to family in times of happiness and times of tears.
