I just returned Wednesday from Denver where I, along with seven others from Portland, attended the annual Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) General Assembly (often referred to as the G.A.).
There are issues that the Jewish Federation as well as our Community Relations Committee (CRC) deal with that are often best managed “behind closed doors.”
Last week, the Portland Jewish community made national news once again.
Yesterday morning we awoke to the wonderful news that Gilad Shalit was reunited with his family after his release by his Hamas captors in Gaza, ending five years and four months in captivity.
