Earlier this week I sent out a “special edition” of Marc’s Remarks (so today’s will be very brief). I wanted it to be timely and to share about the successes of the Food for Thought Festival.

Sounds of Sirens

FANTASTIC! That is the only way I can describe the opening night of the Food for Thought Festival. Over 600 people from our community came to hear the Wisdom of Davids at the Portland Art Museum.

Co-opetition

After 18 months of planning and under the leadership of Cheryl Tonkin and Ed Tonkin, the first ever Food for Thought Festival is just one week away – April 18-21.

614th Commandment

In July 1993, my graduate school program had a three-week seminar in Russia (Moscow and St. Petersburg) and Israel to learn more about Jewish communal service around the world.

The Four Children

I hope you are enjoying your Passover holiday. It was very nice to have a seder together with my sister’s family while in Orlando. Passover is one of the most celebrated Jewish holidays with over 70% of American Jews participating in a seder.
